What Temperature Should Your Heat Be On When Using A Gas Fireplace?
I have electric heating system and a gas fireplace. I’d like to start using my gas fireplace more than my electric heating since gas is supposedly cheaper. What temperature should I keep myheat on when using the fireplace?

I can’t tell you that nor anyone else. You have to set your thermostat at what ever temp you feel comfortable. I would not be cold unless I can’t afford to be warm. Maybe you could put a fan on your gas heater to help circulate the air. I would use the gas to heat as much but keep an eye on the price’s
This answer is up to you i don’t see how any of us can tell you what your heat should be set at. sorry

If your place is small enough you shouldn’t need your heater except for at nights. Just set the temp to what you like.
When we use our fireplace we put a box fan in the hallway to pull the heat down to the bedrooms. We keep the temp set at the same, that way when the house is no longer heated from the firepace the heater will kick on at it’s normal setting.

Heat rises so is the heat inside your area trapped up in the ceiling or are you moving it around with ceiling fans? How you use your heat will save money. Go to http://www.thermoguy.com/globalwarming-h… and see advanced thermal imaging to see how energy is used to heat buildings.
