It will heat a room but not multiple rooms. They rack up the electric bill as much as a window a/c unit would! We have had one in the past and only used it for looks. We were going to get one for our finished attic that doesn't have any duct work to it. It would have heated that room well, but we would only have heated the room when it was needed...which isn't often. Otherwise it would have been outrageous!
