I Have A Fireplace With An Electric Plug In Fire In The Place Of It. We Would Like To Get Rid Of The Electric?
You need a professional to check the chimney and make sure it’s still functional. Check with your local hardware or fireplace store.

If you want to replace with a real fire, (as you’ve not actually asked anything,) then you’ll have to check if you have flue in the chimney breast. You may not have one, or it may not be suitable for real fires.
If you want a gas fire, ask a CORGI registered tradesman (UK) to check your property. He may also tell you if it’s a suitable flue for any other type of real fire.
I’m assuming this is what you mean, if not, then next time please make sure you give us more details.
