How Do You Put Off The Flame In Gas Fire Place? Clicked Off Control But The Fire Is Still Lit.?
our gas company is a rip off so i’m better using a portable electric heater. even though i turn off the fireplace, there is still a minimal lit fire and of course consumes gas.

That’s the pilot light. You can’t put it out. My mother-in-law’s gas fireplace is that way. Ours is not so I have to guess that it’s the model of fireplace rather than the gas company.

That is your pilot light. It’s best to leave it lit if you plan on using the fireplace from time to time. If you want it off – there will likely be a gas valve on the unit someplace. Turn that off and that will do it.

thats your pilot light , you can put that out if you shut off the gas supply to the fireplace . however the pilot consumes very little gas

It’s the pilot, its supposed to be on, if you put it out its a pain to have to get the pilot lit again. Just leave it
