Have You Ever Seen The Heat Surge Infomercial? Was It As Amusing To You As It Is To Me?

Electric fireplaces created by the Amish, complete with “real” footage of “real” Amish people making the fireplaces!!
Never mind that the Amish don’t use electricity.
And don’t believe in being video taped.
And don’t pierce their ears.

    funny thing about a lot of those Amish I found when I lived around them, they will use electricity, phones, cars etc…as long as it’s not theirs, ie they won’t pay for it or own it but will use it, seemed kinda hokey to me.

    Where do you get you Amish info? You make it sound like they’re some African tribe believing the camera will steal their soul. It’s not that they don’t believe in being videotaped, but they are not supposed to be prideful and sitting for photographs is considered pride. Being shown working is not an issue. A many Amish use electricity.
    You find it amusing because you aren’t well informed.

    they actually have an infomercial on it too? they take out a big full paged ad once a week in the newspaper. I found this very amusing myself!
    They have all sorts of cross religions with amish now. Mennonite amish.. so they can combine the things they want to live with and still be in tune with God..Large groups of them declaring themselves Amish Mennonite have moved into our rural area. That way, they can drive cars and have businesses/ the best of both religions.

    I noticed that in the infomercial too.
    aww jen you ruined it..they were stealing the amish name because they know that they won’t watch tv to see the infomercial
