Electric Fireplace Opinions?
my condo has electric heat pump so we were thinking of getting an electric fireplace for the living room so we can use less heat. do you think this will help lower our winter electric bills if we are not using the heat pump as much. ?

it would be the same as getting a elec. space heater for your room. . google “elec. fireplace for heat” to learn more. you could save more by getting a (google, programable thermostat) that automatically turns your heat up and down when your away from home. costs only 30 bucks.

An electric fireplace put out about 1500 watts of heat.Not much more then a hair dryer.They cost about a dollar a day to run and really do not heat up more then a small room.If you like the looks of them then I would say get one.If you want to save money you could buy a better heater for the money spent on an electric fireplace.

electric heating is probably the most expensive form of heating available. why not consider mobile gas heaters. instant heat too.
