Can You Turn A Gas Fireplace Into An Electric One?
Depends on the gas fireplace. If the logs are in a “universal” vent free box it’s no problem to take them out and use and electric insert. If you can contact me through my website with the model number off of your fireplace and or logs, I can suggest an appropriately sized unit and refer you to a local dealer.

ICToA is right. Moreover, converting gas to electric in such a fashion, might be dangerous if done wrong, and is also illegal in many localities.

too much bother.
cap off the gas line (get a lisenced gasfitter to do this) remove the gas fireplace and buy an electric one and install it.
A gas fireplace has a pilot assembly that would have to be dealt with, and it also has a chimney for venting products of combustion.
