They supposedly make the mantles, but they have nothing to do with the marketing and sale of the product. And those people you see in the magazine and TV ads are not really Amish. They are models and actors. The Amish do not have a ban on recreation. I live in an area with a large Old Order Amish population and it is very common to seem them playing basketball and volleyball. In the winter they ice skate and play hockey on frozen ponds. Smoking is common among the Old Order population. In fact one of their staple crops in this area is tobacco.
